Dr. Buchan is an Associate Professor of Pathology at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and Director of Clinical Microbiology at Children’s Wisconsin. Beyond clinical service, Dr. Buchan is the Associate Program Director for the Pathology Residency at MCW and rotation director for Microbiology and Molecular Pathology. Dr. Buchan is a member of the clinical practice committee for the Association for Molecular Pathology and Chair of the Exam Development Committee for the American Board of Medical Microbiology. He has authored more than 90 peer reviewed scientific publications, invited reviews, and book chapters, is a member of the editorial board for the Journal of Clinical Microbiology, and is an Associate Editor for the American Journal of Clinical Pathology. In his free time, he enjoys running, biking, and yardwork.
