Bert K. Lopansri, MD received his MD degree at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine where he also completed an Internal Medicine residency. He completed an ID Fellowship at the University of Utah and joined the ID Faculty afterwards. He was recruited back to Loyola University School of Medicine and Hines VA Hospital where he chaired the Infection Control Committee. He subsequently returned to Utah where he joined Intermountain Healthcare and currently serves as Medical Director of the Intermountain Central Micro lab and Medical Director of the Intermountain ID Program. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Utah and is board certified in Infectious Diseases and Medical Microbiology.
In his spare time, he likes to frustrate himself by chasing a little white ball into trees and lakes and has since forgotten what it feels like to hit a golf ball in short grass…
