Job Summary
The US Product Manager (PM) will lead upstream activities as part of the Marketing Team for the portfolio of PCR assays and instrumentation. As part of a growing team, the successful candidate will shape the product pipeline and customer satisfaction by collaborating with the commercial organization.
The PM will have significant interaction with customers and will synthesize voice-of-customer (VOC) and other data sources for fact-based recommendations and analysis, driving key product and business decisions.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic and tactical plans while achieving results on time and on budget.
- Participate in company presence at selected exhibitions and conferences.
- Develop and implement internal and external marketing and sales tools as needed.
- Partner with downstream marketing and commercial teams to define unmet needs and plan the launch of new products.
- Monitor and communicate competitive activity.
- Support product development activity from concept through commercialization.
- Maintain effective relationships with R&D, facilitating product decisions, communication across projects, and execution while ensuring commercial objectives are met.
- Act as a customer advocate by understanding and communicating customer and business needs, including technical requirements, to cross-functional teams such as Regulatory, Clinical, Sales, Quality, Finance, and Operations.
- Analyze market trends, customer requirements, and competitive intelligence to provide real-time feedback, recommendations, and business case analysis.
- Maintain effective relationships with corporate headquarters, customers, cross-functional teams, and the commercial organization.
Required Qualifications and Attributes
- 5+ years of experience in clinical diagnostics in marketing or product management with clinical laboratory instrumentation and/or assays (IVD). Medical device or life sciences background may be considered.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in life sciences or molecular biology or related field.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to approximately 30%, including some international travel.
- Knowledge of molecular diagnostics (MDx), including PCR technologies, applications, and markets.
- Experience in infectious disease.
- Experience managing the product lifecycle from concept to launch.
Additional / Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in molecular diagnostics, genomics/oncology, sequencing, or companion diagnostics is a plus.
- MBA is a plus.
